President
The President is the principal student representative and constitutional head of Chhatra.org.
Responsibilities: Provide national-level leadership for school, college, and university students. Represent students’ constitutional rights in coordination with civic platforms. Ensure Chhatra.org remains non-partisan, constitutional, and student-led. Oversee national strategies on education, student safety, and civic accountability. Act as the primary guardian of Article 7(1) principles within the student community.
Authority:
Strategic leadership only; no unilateral power. Accountable to registered student voters and internal constitutional mechanisms.
Secretary General
The General Secretary is the chief administrative and operational officer of the student platform.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of Chhatra.org Maintain student registration systems and internal records. Coordinate communications between institutions and civic platforms. Ensure transparent documentation of decisions and activities. Facilitate student participation, reporting, and civic engagement
Authority: Administrative and organisational. No political or disciplinary power
Student Sovereignty & Voting System
Only registered students may vote or contest leadership positions. Voting rights are equal for all registered students, regardless of institution. All elections are conducted through ballotpaper.org, ensuring: Secret ballots. One student, one vote. Transparent counting. Public verification mechanisms. Leadership exists to serve students, not to command them.
National Scope of Leadership.The elected leadership of Chhatra.org collectively:
Represents all students nationwide. Leads student rights advocacy across: Schools, Colleges,Universities. Coordinates with all civic exposure, safety, and accountability platforms. Acts as a constitutional shield for student rights, dignity, and freedom.
Core Principle. Chhatra.org is governed by students, for students, and answerable to students. Leadership is temporary. Merit is mandatory. The Constitution is supreme.
Vice President
The Vice President supports the President and ensures organisational continuity.
Responsibilities:
Assist in national coordination across educational levels. Lead inter-platform collaboration with civic and accountability networks. Act on behalf of the President when required. Monitor ethical standards and institutional neutrality. Support regional and institutional student representation structures.
Authority: Supportive and supervisory. No executive override of collective decisions
