About chhatra.org

A National Civic and Education-Based Platform for Students of Bangladesh

National Students (chhatra.org) is a people-driven, non-partisan, and constitutional civic platform for all students of Bangladesh.

The platform operates under Jatiya.org, and its ideological foundation is rooted in Article 7(1) of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, which clearly states:

All powers in the Republic belong to the people.

In reality, however, this ownership has remained largely symbolic. Over the past 54 years since independence, nearly 90 per cent of students in Bangladesh have suffered the destruction of their education, careers, and futures due to the prevailing political system. Without political patronage, a student is effectively reduced to a minority—
deprived of rights, security, and a viable future. The Real Crisis: Students vs the Political System. Bangladesh has a population of over 200 million.
Bengali is the eighth most spoken language in the world.
International Mother Language Day originated from Bangladesh’s own language movement. Yet the reality remains stark: higher education—medicine, engineering, law, and other professional disciplines—is still not delivered in the mother tongue. Countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, and many European nations have built national wealth by delivering higher education in their own languages. In contrast, linguistic barriers continue to force Bangladesh’s most talented students to leave the country. Today, it is not only students—doctors, engineers, scientists, lawyers, and researchers are also being compelled to emigrate or live in exile due to political pressure, discrimination, and uncertainty.

The result:
The state is losing its most valuable asset—intellectual capital.

National Students believes: All students are equal. Education is not charity; it is a constitutional right.

The state is losing its most valuable asset—intellectual capital.

Why National Students Is Necessary

For more than five decades, political parties have used students as instruments to advance their own agendas.

The fundamental questions are: Why should our children be divided along political lines? Where do students’ rights truly stand? Why should education become a commodity exchanged for loyalty to power? If students are united, no one can destroy this country. Because education is the backbone of a nation.
Without history and sound education, no nation’s future is secure. National Students

Our Objectives

Students are not tools of politics. Students are the shield of the state.
